View Project]]> Sound masking is based on the phenomenon that when low level background noise is added to an environment, intruding speech and noises are less intelligible. The term “white noise” is widely used when referring to speech privacy or sound masking systems, although these systems don’t actually use white noise.

The technology behind sound masking came out of the realization by scientists and engineers that oral privacy is actually a simple matter of making speech unintelligible. That is, if each of us can’t understand what the other is saying, we have effectively established oral privacy – even though we may still be able to see and, to some extent, hear each other.

Sound masking “fills in” the sound spectrum around you with barely perceptible low level noise, so that speech is rendered unintelligible. It’s actually designed to sound like typical office air conditioning noise, so that you won’t notice it. In other words, it’s a gentle “whooshing” sound.

View Project]]> Run for Hope honors Vince Lombardo, a non smoker and 18-year old lung cancer survivor who succumbed to the disease in January 2004. Vince received his cancer treatments at MD Anderson and served on Anderson’s Network Steeling Committee for 15 years, providing hope and encouragement to fellow cancer patients. In November of 2003, Vince was awarded the MD Anderson Joseph T. Painter Award for his outstanding volunteer work with cancer survivors – the first time an individual, not a resident of Texas, ever received the Painter Award. Vince’s motto was “Never Deprive Someone of Hope, It May Be All They Have.” As a way of continuing Vinces’s message of hope to cancer patients and their families, Run for Hope was begun in November 2004.*

View Project]]> Pastor Randy Goudeau is a native of Baton Rouge, La. On September 3rd, 1994 Randy married the love of his life, Becky, and one year later they entered into full-time ministry. Since that time, they have enjoyed ministry in Louisiana, Arkansas, and New York City. Pastor Randy has traveled extensively nationally and internationally ministering in churches and conferences. One of Randy’s passions is to see the church rise up and reach the un-churched with the love of God. As well, Pastor Randy has a burden and heart for the youth culture and desires to see them become great men and women of God.
